Devin,

Rick Sowash has written a clarinet quintet (clarinet in A) for Lucien Aubert
which you might find interesting -- available directly from the composer for
the cost of copying and shipping (probably somewhere between $12 and $20).
He has a web site at:

www2.primax.com/users/~ricks/default.html

While you're there, download the free music he has made available and order
his CD of clarinet music. IMHO, it is delightful. (I have no connection to
him nor am I compensated for this testamonial. ;^) )

You might also visit the Canadian Music Centre at:

www.culturenet.ucalgary.ca/cmc/cmc_library_eng.html

and search on "clarinet." One of the pieces you will come across is Harry
Freedman's "Chalumeau." If one of your violinists also plays piano (or you
have a pianist available), you might also want to check out Srul Irving
Glick's "Suite Hebraique No. 2." CMC is a genuine treasure.

Finally, if you belong to the International Clarinet Association, check out
Sneezy for works for clarinet and string quartet, then contact the ICA
library to see what they have available for you to borrow.

Happy hunting,

Jack Kissinger
St. Louis
