The Des Moines Metro Opera is looking for a second clarinetist to fill a one
year opening. It is a five week opera festival on the campus of Simpson
College in Indianola, Iowa. Repertoire this summer includes Beethoven
"Fidelio", Lehar "Merry Widow", and Lee Hoiby "Summer and Smoke". DMMO is the
third largest summer opera company in the country (Santa Fe and Glimmerglass
being the top two). Compensation for five weeks is approx. $2000. It's a very
good orchestra and the festival gets great singers.

We've had a late cancellation with no time to advertise in the International
Musician so I thought I'd post this online. We are looking for a clarinetist
with ROPA level orchestral and operatic experience. A short audition tape
including the exposition to the Mozart concerto and excerpts from La Forza del
Destino, Tosca, Luisa Miller, Firebird, and Capriccio Espagnol will be
required. The personnel manager will send the music to interested players.
