I used to use tenor reeds on bass clarinet. This was not by choice, but
because bass reeds are incredibly difficult to get hold of here in
Christchurch. When I did get some bass reeds, the difference was
incredible. I would never ever go back to a tenor reed. The proper reeds
make it so much easier to get a nice sound in all registers. I've never
found the reeds to be the wrong size on any of the mouthpieces I've used.
