Small bit on Sax:

Adolph Sax extended the clarinet to low Eb and added a register key to
improve the altissimo range. He also changed the normally closed b natural
key to a normally open key. This key was closed by a ring key which
facilitated movemebt from g to ab and d'' to f'' sharp. A longer middle
tenon to correct the pitch of c' sharp and a pad cup for the g' tone hole
have also been attributed to Sax.
