Due to the large number of requests for details on the source for my
Noblet C clarinet, I'll post the information rather than respond
individually. It must make composer's hearts glad that so many
clarinets are concerned about fulfilling their original intent! ;-)

- The store personnel speak some English, which works fine if you're
there in person. Over the phone, though, you'll have a much easier
time if you speak Swiss-German. Standard German, French or Italian
may be worth a try, and you should consider writing/faxing them if
language becomes an issue.
- As of last summer, they had 4 used Noblet C instruments and several
from other makes including Oehler system. Prices for the Noblets
ranged from about $200 to $700, with the latter in almost new
condition. All played well, with the main difference the age of the
clarinets and the attendant key wear, etc., and all seemed bargains.
They also had the new LeBlanc C clarinet (Esprit?) for a little over
$1300 at the time. Keep in mind that this was 6 months ago and prices
and availability may have changed.
- The Noblet is a very nice instrument and has a good enough sound
for professional use, but it isn't perfect. Overall pitch is good, but
I'm still adjusting to the overall tuning with some particular issues
in the throat-tone A.

With those caveats, here is the store:

Atelier Lohri
Alpenquai 4
6005 Luzern
Switzerland
+41 368 20 30 (telephone)
+41 368 20 35 (fax)

Don't forget to add the country code for Switzerland (41) and
international access code (011 in the U.S.) if required.

Good luck,
Jordan
