How flat is the A + 3rd trill? Are you covering any of the holes with
your right hand (as you would with the typically annoyingly sharp G, G#,
and A)? I've been taught to use A + register for quick passages, but for
a Bb held out to use the A + 3rd trill. Of course, on my instrument,
IIRC (it's in the shop, so I don't know right offhand!), the A + 3rd trill
is only a few cents flat. It may just be a matter of lipping up, unless
it's significantly flat.
