Actually, flutes and clarinets are quite comparably priced, until you get
into the upper end. There, materials, like sterling silver and gold,
probably do make some difference, and handcrafting and custom work the
rest. Actually, for the price of a Leblanc Opus, you can buy a VERY nice
flute.
