Hello,

I have been bothered by a very frustrating problem for about 1 month
now. It is that I am consistently playing 20-30 cents flat on every
note. I noticed it after christmas break, when orchestra rehearsals
started again. My setup (mouthpiece, reed strength, clarinet) did not
change.

I have played on other peoples' setups, and the problem is exactly the
same. People who play on mine, play in tune.

So, things that I have tried in order to fix this include countless
number of different reed strenghts, voicing the sound differently (eeee
as opposed to ahh), taking more mouthpiece, and taking less mouthpiece.
I am hesitant to rush out and buy new barrels because that does not seem
to be the problem. I have played fine on this setup before.

I practice 4-6 hours a day, and a lot of this time I spend on long
tones.

Anyway, I hope that some people may have suggestions for me, because I am
baffled by this.

Thank you,
Merlin Von Frankenberg
WLU
