I would strongly second the advice that you seek out medical advice
from people who are experienced in the RSI's musicians experience -
ice, heat, ibruprofen will limit the duration of the current attack,
but they don't do anything about the real problem, which is probably
related to some aspect of your hand/arm position. Do the ice etc...
but devote some serious effort to finding the root of the problem.

I have problems in my elbow (left, clarinet playing aggravates it due
to the degree of bending ) - I got in the habit of icing immediately
after playing during a flare up to keep the inflammation from
going any further. This greatly reduced my need for the
anti-inflammatories.
