This description sounds more like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I had tendonitis
for a long time (felt like my wrists were constantly slightly sprained).
My left wrist was completely cured when I broke my thumb skiing and the
wrist was immobilized by a cast for 5 weeks. Hasn't bothered me since
(about 16 years). Complete rest does wonders, but is rather extreme.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is too loud.
