In any case, it *is* possible to be both ahead of your peers and
reasonably well thought of - after all, the only ones who have any cause
to resent your success are your own section. Hmmm, maybe that's why all
my friends were brass players... :-)

Hopefully, the chronic squawk phase will be short lived. But the eefer
*is* more difficult to play in tune, by all accounts - I think this more
the issue.
