I will provide a brief answer to Roger's questions. Howarth has a home page
at www.howarth.demon.co.uk/howclar.htm

There is a one sentence description about the synthetic material. It says,
"Anatone is a specially developed polyvinyl chloride with exceptional acoustic
qualities."

The price for Anatone clarinets is the same as for the ones made of blackwood.
Kingwood and Cocobolo are more expensive.

I hope that helps somewhat.
