In a message dated 98-02-04 03:04:03 EST, you write:

<< I called a _local_ repairperson and asked about interning (sp?). They
stated that it is bad to do professional level repair work and play at the
same tim. This person says that when you start doing repair work, you pull
musles, tendons, etc... and that is not good for one's playing. >>

I submit that Clark Fobes in San Francisco (a former member of the list who is
both a superb repairperson and professional player) and Steve Roberts in Los
Angeles (who is also a superb repairperson and plays with the Hollywood Bowl
Orchestra, the Pasadena Symphony, the LA Opera Orchestra, plus a lot of studio
work) certainly contradict your "local" repairperson's opinion. Might you be
a threat to their livelihood, perhaps?
