I like both of them. I teach in an inner-city school district in which
most of my students play on very old school-owned horns (there are
advantages and disadvantes to having a quantity of school-owned horns).
I'm just ecstatic when my very low-income parents will make the effort
to rent an instrument for their child. I don't think that the
difference in significant when we are talking about fourth graders. I'd
love to be particular but am not teaching in a situation where I can
afford to be. I just want my kids to learn to play an instrument.
