I'm afraid I have to agree with Bill on this one......last year I
purchased a used Noblet C clarinet from Bob Gilbert in LA, "as is", for a
ridiculously low price (I can say that now because I know they can't
back-invoice me or anything!). After having the upper joint checked for
leaks and repadded, it plays like an absolute dream, and tuning is
excellent. Buffet's pro model C clarinets are (I understand) notorious
for pitch problems and cost about 4 to 5 times as much as what I paid for
this Noblet instrument. I have used this instrument in two entirely
different professional playing situations with excellent results.

It's true what everyone's been saying -- find a horn that you like, don't
worry so much about what brand or model it is! If it works, use it!
