Bill, here's what I did a couple of weeks ago. It works,
however, YMMV.

I had a torn skin on a pad, and feeling that I couldn't make
things much worse. I:
1) cut off the rest of the skin from around the pad with a
razor blade which caused
2) the felt under the skin to fall out. So I
3) superglued the felt back to the cardboard backing that
was still in the cup
4) making sure that it was lined up reasonably well (the depression
fit the hole evenly. After setting up I
5) cut a piece of saran wrap about 2 in sq. and
6) put a drop of superglue in the mille of the saran wrap. I then
7) slid the saran wrap under the opened key and let the key down
directly over the drop of superglue. After letting the stuff set
for about a half an hour I
8) used the razor blade again to cut off the excess saran wrap.

As long as the superglue only hits the saran wrap and felt things
should be copacetic - but it sure ain't for the faint of heart!

The pink wrap on the pad (it was the B trill key) looks a bit
strange, but it works. I'm having the horn repadded & repaired
for other reasons.
