In regards to the comments on Noblets being bad, I happened to have good
experiences with a Noblet bass, and I have played on a Leblanc bass I liked.
Also, quite a while back Clark Fobes commented that the Vito/Yamaha student
line bass clarinets are very good basses for the money. I played a Vito bass
all through middle school and high school and found it to be a reliable
workhorse. Anyway, don't you think its safe to say that no instrument
manufacturer will purposefully release their instruments as pieces of junk?
Of course there are occaisional defects or instruments delivered that need a
complete overhaul right away, etc. But the wind instrument market realies
almost 100% on word of mouth and past experiences (I'll be comitted to a home
the day they have an R-13 commercial premiere during the Superbowl! :) so I
doubt we'll see a complete line of garbage instruments... Ok there's my 1 1/2
cents on "X is a horrible instrument!"
