Not necessarily. All reed size determines is reed size. I use a 4 or
4 1/2 Vandie V12, but I know quite a few players twice as advanced as I'll
ever be who use a 3 or 3 1/2. Reed size is really dependent on several
factors: mouthpiece (the facing of the mpc), humidity of your location,
etc. This is a misconception of many players. "Oh, look, I use an 8 1/2
and you only use a 5... haha I'm better than you!" No, this is not
necessarily correct.
