There are also alto horns built in the key of F. Many of the Eb alto
horns were sold with tuning slides that adapted the instrument to F.
Yamaha makes a wonderful Eb alto horn.....upright bell.....or at least
did. Hindemith wrote a sonata for that instrument and the piano.

Some day I will sell the mint condition brass Yamaha Eb alto horn that I
own.........I keep thinking my oldest son might want to learn french
horn....and it is a good starter instrument for that....also good to start
kids on for euphonium and tuba......
