I think that's not the point. Some of the usenet newsgroups won't accept
messages if they include more quoted material than new. That makes a lot
of sense. It prevents the situation we had today when someone quoted an
entire digest, posting at the end their one-sentence request to be
unsubscribed. Naturally, that means that they never read the instructional
message they received when they subscribed, which advised them to be sure
to "save this message." Was anyone's life improved by having to deal with
that? I doubt it. Is the body of knowledge improved when someone quotes
a long message, just to add, "Me, too!," or "Right!" I don't think so. A
list such as this is neither an referendum nor a popularity contest. If
someone needs the emotional support they can gain by seeing that someone
else agrees with them, they need to deal this by consulting their
psychiatrist, not a mailing list.

Sorry to have to disagree with your opinion. I guess that is what makes
life interesting, if sometimes irritating.
