Every player finds something different. What works for one doesn't for
another. For example, I am ecstatic with the Rovners.

See the above comment on ligatures. It also applies to reeds. You need to
find what suits your playing and mouthpiece.

Whatever do you do to the reeds that they only play for 30 minutes ?!?

Many people swear by the Grand Concerts. They should not be stigmatized by
the fact that the regular Ricos are dogs. My second favorite happens to be
Mitchell Lurie and I just recently learned that these are made by Rico. My
own favorite happens to be standard Vandorens.

Actually I have had no significant problems with warpage so don't use
either. During my break-in process I do polish the backs by putting a piece
of thick typing paper on a hard surface and then rub the reed back and forth
until it is as smooth as glass. It is a little tricky though. If the reed
is too damp it sticks to the paper. If it is totally dry, it just doesn't
seem to work as well.

I have found the stock barrel on my instrument to be just fine.

See comment on reeds and ligatures. Every person is different. An
unmodified Vandoren B45 works wonderfully on my Leblanc.
