Sorry, can't help you out much there. I use Bonade Inverted Lig. That's
the one I've had the most success with. My private instructor during my
high school days, who was a student of my current instructor, sang praises
about the Bay ligature; she loved that thing so much she never let me come
within a foot of it! :) I haven't had much success with the Rovner
ligatures, in comparison to the Bonade at any rate.

If you have access to the internet, check the Klarinet archives. We just
recently had a discussion about reeds not too long ago (correct me if I'm
wrong!). That may help you. I _believe_ that the Klarinet archives can
be found at the Clarinet Pages (http://www.sneezy.org/clarinet). If
that's wrong, Mark Charette will know for sure!

The typical Rico reed, lasting a good half hour. See, I wasn't totally
off my rocker! (Sorry, couldn't resist!! ;-) )

Check the archives for this one too, if you wish. This thread happened
quite some time ago. Were you off the list for some time recently or did
you just not receive these posts?

Again, a recent thread. Personally, I prefer sanding to prevent warpage.
But that could also be because I haven't tried knifing yet. Heck, I'm
still learning how to sand correctly! Another choice was using rush (reed
rush, I believe... but I can't remember exactly). The first time I heard
about that was recently, when this thread was alive and kicking!

What do you use now? I've had a lot of success with the C. Robert Scott
nylon barrel. Of course, my experience with barrels is severely limited
to the Scott, the Artley stock, and the Buffet stock... so when I actually
get around to trying barrels, I'll get back to you.

I guess this really all depends on how much you're willing to spend.
Gennussa GE is a wonderful mouthpiece, especially for the price ($63.00
from Muncy Winds as I'm looking at it now). Also, the Clark Fobes
mouthpieces are excellent. I've only tried the Debut model, the student
model. It plays almost as well as the Gennussa GE, IMHO. Fobes also has
a professional model mpc, and if his student plays almost as well as the
pro mpcs and better than some, this is one mpc definitely worth looking
into! These mouthpieces are listed $24.00 and $65.00 repectively in the
Muncy Winds catalog. You also have your crystal mouthpieces, which is
territory I've yet to brave. Of course, those mouthpieces will run you
well over $65.00. I believe they run $110+ in the catalog for the least
expensive models.

At any rate, check the archives for recent posts, a month or two or three.
The archives will definitely help you. And if you have any problems
finding anything, including the archives themselves, Mark Charette will be
able to help you.
