Use VanDorens or Rico Royals but use a fine mpc and the HARDEST reed you
can blow on. Eb clarinet is not as hard as all that, if you accept that
it does not blow like a Bb.

Interstingly, Ted Johnson, recently retired as Eb in the Clevelnad
ORchestra, used cut off Bb reeds like Sarah suggests.

I have never found an Eb reed that I liked (and that is just modest
student requirements on sound). What I have been doing for the past 4
years since I started playing the Eb clarinet is to use regular Bb reeds
with the bottom cut off. It really has improved my tuneing, as well as
getting the throat tones to sound more centered. That is my meager
experience talking, however.

Have fun!
