In terms of great clarinet parts for concert band, I second almost
everything Roger Garrett listed. I play with the Austin Symphonic Band,
and lucky for us, our director is a clarinet player--so we get lots of
great clarinet parts. Of the "living and active" composers, I have
enjoyed almost everything we have played by Frank Ticheli. I'd like to
add to Roger's list another selection by Frank Ticheli: Blue Shades. Its
fairly new, and we have only played it off of manuscript, but I *think*
it's available. If not, it should be soon.
