Ahhhh........relief from a fellow knife user!

But, while I use a reed knife for the adjustment, I use 320 grit sandpaper
(little squares of it) on a wet reed to smooth the scrape of the knife.
The knife can pinpoint to the milimeter, the exact place the cane needs to
be removed from. I have had students give me amazed looks when, after
scraping so little off of a specific point on the reed, their reed plays
beautifully. I have also had students throw up their hands after I ruined
their reed. Oh well.
