The most recent Chicago recording, with D. Barenboim is good, although the
orchestra does not sparkle like it did with Reiner on this piece.
However, the bass clarinet solo at the end is terrific.......just the
right amount of wait or linger .....not connected as some conductors
require and which the Cleveland Orchestra did on the recording described
below.
