Subj: holes in metronomes
Date: Sat, 17 Jan 1998 14:33:57 -0500

Okay, I got my nice new Seiko DM-20 metronome, and I'm very pleased. It
is plenty loud, so that was no problem, and it only cost about $26. It
really is just a little larger than a credit card. My question is:
what is the hole for? There's a hole in the lower right corner, about
8mm in diameter, obviously by design, but there's no explanation for it
anywhere. All the other "credit-card" metronomes in the catalog seem to
have one too. The best I can come up with is that if you put a pencil
through it, it props it up so you can place it in view on a table or
piano or whatever, since lying flat it's a little hard to see. Any
other ideas? Hang it from your lanyard when you go camping? Use it as
a keychain? What?
