Go to the automotive section of any major general retail
outlet, hardware store, auto supply shop, or marine supply
store ). #1000 and #1200 wet or dry paper is readily available
there.

It is used on automotive and marine finishes all the time.

Another very good tool for working on the backs of reeds
is a flat file. It takes off very little cane and leaves
an incredibly smooth finish.

Didn't Jay ever show you? :^)
