Concerning when you warm up the horn and it goes sharp:

I've found this to be a natural occurance for me, as with other people.
Some folk play naturally sharp, and this is usually remedied with a longer
barrel. My problem is around 1-2 cents - I barely have to pull out.
However, a greater concern for me is my mouthpiece. I play on a Gennusa,
which is essentially a copy of the old Chedeville mps from back in the
day. There are several other makers who have similar mouthpieces; their
names escape me at the moment. I have found that playing with a
Chedeville type mp on any R13, it does tend to go sharp in certain
registers, and D1 and E1 are about 3-5 flat. I can lip it up with some
work, but the easiest way to fix this is to replace the stock barrel,
which is polycylindrical, with a reversed conical one, such as a Scott.
