R. C. 1820 is closer. The 5-key boxwood was predominant in 1800.

Also of note, Heinrich B=E4rmann was playing a ten key clarinet manufactured

I think we can safely say that by the beginning of the 19th cen., the 6 key
clarinet was fairly common.

And lastly: A sixth key was added in 1790 to Xavier Lefever's clarinet.
