I personally use regular Vandoren 3 1/2 for the most part. If I don't have time to break them in properly I will pick up some
Mitchell Lurie 4's.

As you say reeds are a very personal choice. For me the Vandoren V-12's didn't really work all that well (I have been trying
them for the last month). However with the normal box to box variation perhaps it was this individual group of reeds.

I have also read good things about the Zonda, Grand Concert, Olivieri, and Glotin (several of my friends like this last one).
