In terms of learning these excerpts, it will be better to get complete
parts to any suggested/required audition repertoire, whether the school
in question requires it or not. Also, it will show you to be more
completely prepared if you walk in with parts. Often times excerpt books
leave out difficult passages because they are not solos - they also
contain quite a few errors for various works. I'd also suggest a trip to
a good music library if possible, to borrow scores for study, and maybe a
few recordings of the various pieces. You can buy most parts from Kalmus
for not a lot of money. Sorry, don't have their (800) number at hand.
