Well, of course it's going to sound like a Bb if you have a Bb clarinet
reed (just kidding).

I didn't suggest this because I didn't know if the horn was playable.

Yep - a whole tone down. An A would sound G natural.

Mouthpieces are the same for Bb & A clarinets, but they do vary one from
another in dimensions. I guess I should have thought about the fact that
different makes would have slightly different lengths.
