On the Kohlert A Clarinet issue, I must disagree with the person who
wrote," If you're not very familiar with clarinets, see if you can round
up a modern Bb clarinet (that's the standard-issue band instrument). An A=
will be noticably longer - roughly an inch."
This is NOT TRUE!
I am the proud owner of an older, full-boehm system LeBlanc Bb clarinet
which has a narrow bore. It is PHYSICALLY LONGER than my Selmer A
clarinet! Physical length is NOT always a good measure (pun intended!)
That's my $.02 worth for this discussion
