I suspect that what "most members" of the list feel is that the
participants in this diatribe have long enough exploited our forum
for the sake of showing the world how smart and upstanding they
are. Whatever the reason, personal disputes and flame wars like
this one do not belong on Klarinet. If you have a problem with
the way somebody expresses themselves, tell them -- JUST them.
Send that person a private message, and stay in the private domain
until you're ready to talk about the clarinet again. It is doubt-
less a pleasure to one's ego to have a captive audience of 800+
people, who will receive your message whether they want to or
not. Some of them are paying by the minute to read this stuff,
too (connect time, download time, other surcharges incurred by
internet providers). I suspect the length of these exchanges
would be dramatically diminished if their authors suddenly
found out that nobody was listening.

And now, something about the clarinet. It wasn't very long ago
that members posted information on reed-making books. I failed
to write down the titles & such, for which I feel quite the dolt.
Could those of you who know of specific books, which show methods
of making reeds from tube cane, email me privately? This is an
area about which I really need to become knowledgeable, even if
I only use the skill to adjust Vandorens. Titles, authors, and
publishers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Neil
