Roger--

In response to your post: you reference two of the most talented clarinetists
today with successful solo careers. I have had the opportunity to hear Mr.
Shifrin play on several occasions, both in a chamber music setting, and as a
soloist, and his playing is exquisite. His recordings on the Delos label
should be in every clarinetists collection for reference.

The same can be said of Sabine Meyer. After all the hassle she had with the
Berlin Philharmonic (gee, the same thing as Vienna!), she now has a successful
solo career, and has made many fine recordings for EMI.
