Roger--
You must like to argue. I jumped into this fracus only at a point where I
believed that it strayed tooooo far from any relavancy to the clarinet and related
musical topics. I believe that we are simply debating the employment of women (be
it in an orchestra or not) and women's rights as we perceive them as Americans.
There is a list to discuss broader orchestral, musical and conducting topics.
Coordinated from Clemson University, it is called Orchestralist. This topic has
also been a topic on that list, and it is my opinion that that is a more proper
forum. If this issue had focussed on its impact on clarinet auditions and
selection, or the discrimination of Boehm system clarinet players from an
orchestra which requires clarinet players to use Oehler system clarinets, I would
have taken a different view.
