What's mindless and ridiculous to you may not be to others. Use that
index finger. Hit that delete key. I may think that sending HTML
formatted mail messages to the list is mindless, ridiculous, and
rude to those that have to wade through 2 copies of the message,
along with being a horrible waste of archive space, but you don't
hear me publically complain.
