Yes, and it will remain, too, until you get the pads replaced. Also,
the corks are capable of holding fungi and fungal odors (as in "corky"
wines), so they should be replaced too if you want to eliminate the
odors (and they usually are with a pad job). Add the cost of a new case
before you decide what the final cost is going to be.

I wish I were in your shoes. I've had a nice A for years and nobody to
play with, so it sits in my closet getting old.
