If your fingers hurt after a while, you are pounding the keys excessively.
Think of a rubber band - a little tension makes a good spring, too much,
and it's like over stretching the band - too little, and there is no spring
at all.
Also practice by changing the rhythms of the passages for example: a
sixteenth passage of even notes can be learned by making every other note
longer like 1-----2,3-----,4 1-----2,3--------4 then reversing the rhythm
1,2-------,3,4------- 1,2------,3,4-------- this gives the brain a break
every other note. By reversing the rhythm, the break is on the other note.
It is great for "pounding" the notes into your fingers, and brain.
