There is the same problem with an alto clarinet. I have to use music
for sax sometimes. There are also maybe 2 orchestras with altos that
I've heard of, the NY Philharmonic being one. There aren't many pro's
who play altos, but it shouldn't be as hard to find a bass player.
You could always use clarinet solos that are written low and a little
slower.
