Hydrogen peroxide and alcohol are NOT cleaning agents. They are
disinfectants. Now if you have allowed someone to use your mouthpiece,
you would want to disinfect them. However they do a very poor job of
removing any type of oils, solids, or other contaminants in the
mouthpiece.

To remove dirt, oils, foods, sugars etc, you will need a cleaning
agent. Unless they are badly caked, ordinary room temperature water
with dish soap does a fine job. If this won't remove it or if there are
built up mineral deposits (from not properly drying), it is quite
inexpensive to have the band instrument repairman remove them.
