I'll agree that you need to treat a new instrument MUCH more carefully
because the wood is far less stable. My instruments are many years old (I'm
playing a Bb that was new in 1972. My A is somewhat newer. My spare Bb is
from the mid-forties. Give you an idea of my view on "blow out?" :-) ). The
expansion and contraction that a new clarinet may be subjected to by
significant temperature or humidity changes would make me a lot more
cautious, too.
