Neil, I leave mine assembled often, more out of laziness than anything else.
I do find that the corks tend to stick, possibly because we let the temp in
our house drop to about 62 degrees overnight. Maybe the cork grease just
gets gummy. From what I've been able to see, cork compression is the main
risk, but it hasn't been enough of a problem to make me pack it up every
night.
