I have played this piece before. From what I remember it was a rather fast
number. Practice it slow and work your way up in tempo. (this is a good
idea for the other pieces too) When I played it I was on first part I
remember having to deal with high A's which the section could not keep in
tune. We ended up taking that part down an octave at the suggestion of the
conductor. I don't know if you have to deal with the high A's or not, but
if you do be ready to play it in either octave. Good Luck with the try
out.
