Roger, let me give a different view. One of the great pleasures of
any topic is that discussion of it leads to other topics, and they
to even others. It is a natural process for one idea to flow to
another and another and another until one cannot understand how one
got to where you are at. And when you look at the 100th note, you
say, "This has nothing to do with the original posting."

One way around this is to have the topic altered but connected; i.e.,
Subject: Performance accuracy (used to be Morales, etc.).

But I would suggest that interfering with the flow of thoughts that
arise from one point and lead to another defeats the whole purpose
of having a list such as ours.
