I never said that I knew everything. I was only stating that i was
younger when I knew about aria being on Bb Basset, and that if i knew about
it that certainly the Principle of the Met would of course know that too.
Mr. Leeson was stating that Mr. Morales was too young to know that the aria
was written for Bb basset clarinet. He wasnt trying to inform the public.
It was a personal attack.

I agree with you!! However I think this should be addressed to Mr.
Lesson for I never said I knew more or that i was more wonderful than anyone
else. Thats what the people who hear me say.(JOKING) LOL I dont ever
remember saying these things in my post. Just because someone is older doesnt
mean that their experince is superior to someone that is younger either!!!!!!!

I have tried a German clarinet with the French system. And I found it
to be lacking in sound quality and intonation vs the Leblanc that he plays on.
I also have a friend that used to play on one and he had to switch because he
was having problems playing with others(intonation and projection problems)
He recently switched and is much happier. Why would you try to work out the
problems of an inferior instrument to just play a couple of notes that are
covered and not missed that much? MAKING MUSIC IS WHAT SHOULD BE MOST
IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!

Do you really think that if he did take offense to it that he would write a
post about it? I dont think so. Why would a man with his position what to
try to defend himself to all the "arm chair" clarinetist out there. I am not
taking offense to anything anyone has said I just want to make sure that the
facts are straight.

Derivations for Clarinet and Band (actually Jazz Ensemble) by Morton Gould
is available (rental only) from G&C Music Corp./Chappell & Co. Inc. There
is no improvisation on the part of the soloist - but there are lots of
jazz "licks" that require careful stylistic approach. The Beeny Goodman
recording is on a CD called Beeny Goodman Collector's Edition,
Compositions and Collaborations, CBS Masterworks MK 42227.
