I have a question (keeping in mind my ignorance as an avocational
clarinetist): If the idea is to play a composition *exactly* as
the composer intended, wouldn't it follow that recordings such
as Eddie Daniels' "Five Seasons" aren't artistic statements but
instead novelties?
