My first suggestion that covers both fields that you are asking for is
Vivaldi's Sonata No. 9. The bass clarinet arrangement contains the third
and fourth movemments; third bing lyricla, and the fourth being technical.
It's kinda cool, but stays nice and low the whole way. If you want to
empress them with range AND technicality, there is no better bass clarinet
solo than the arrangement of von Webers Concertino for clarinet. That
will REALLY blow their socks off, but will require a lot of work on your
part. It traverses into the altissimo range a lot, and ends on a high F.
If you can hold that note in tune, go for it!!!. (Of course, it took me
an entire year, just about, to master that one. If you think you can do
it, I'm cheering for you!!!)
