The director of our wind ensemble insists on tuning the winds to A also.
Why, when we don't have any strings (except the string bass), I don't know.
Fortunately, the brass players were able to talk him into providing a Bb
for the brass. Now, I just wait for the brass pitch, and tune my contra to
the tubas.
